Employment Tax Assistant Manager - Reading

As an Employment Tax specialist you will work on a large number of clients from mid-market businesses to household names. Significant and continued success means than an exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join the expanding team in Reading (Theale). You will be involved in ongoing annuity work as well as significant and exciting projects delivering an efficient remuneration strategy to employers, as well as implementing benefit schemes. In addition, you will assist with planning opportunities and dealing with HMRC Employer Compliance reviews. The employment tax assistant manager job

The following is an outline of the role. It is accepted that applicants may need support with their development in some areas depending upon their background and previous experience:

  • Working on a portfolio of client relationships on the provision of employment tax services with full support from the department's senior managers and other team members
  • Helping to identifying cross-selling opportunities and being an effective member of the Employment Tax team by sharing relationships and knowledge
  • Managing deadlines, client expectations and administration including following the firms risk procedures (full training will be provided)
  • Working with the team to undertake PAYE Health-checks
  • Undertaking employment tax due diligence work as part of the wider transaction team
  • Completion of P11Ds, PSAs and assisting with annual compliance work
  • Involvement in local marketing initiatives

About you

Ideally you will:

  • Already be working in practice, or with HMRC, and have relevant Employment Tax experience.
  • Self-motivated and confident with clients.
  • Team orientated, but able to work with minimum supervision when necessary
  • Able to produces a high standard of written work, with a 'right first time' approach
  • Keen to demonstrate an appetite for technical development.
  • Used to working under pressure and manage deadlines.
