Reporting to the European Tax Director, the position will hold responsibility for corporate income tax advice in the Southern European region (primarily, Netherlands and Belgium).

The international tax manager job

Although reporting into the direct/income tax team, the Southern European manager supports the entire tax team for the region (including transaction-based/indirect taxes and customs/trade). Responsibility encompasses the breadth of company operations in the region, including manufacturing, sales (main global selling entity is in the Netherlands) and financing and sales structures. The Southern European manager will partner with other business functions to analyze business opportunities and expansion in the region.

Specifics of the role are:

• Tax planning and reorganization for the region
• Meetings and negotiations with in-country revenue authorities as the relationship manager for the business
• Reviewing tax calculations, and corporate profits/income tax returns
• Mergers and acquisition support
• Providing in-region support for Global Tax and Customs team
• Overseeing the external tax consultants
• Tax audit support
• Transfer pricing support
• Partnering with regional finance and business organizations

About you

• Qualified candidates should have at least four years of professional and/or industry (multinational) experience and hold a professional qualification such as a law degree, a CPA, or an equivalent
• Familiarity with various transaction-based tax systems (VAT, etc.) and customs/trade rules desired
• Fluency in English, written and spoken, is required
• Fluency in Spanish or Italian, written and spoken, heavily preferred
• Any other language ability is a plus
• Light to moderate travel required
