Description

This role entails the tax management and oversight of all the team's projects across each of the tax jurisdictions, (UK, USA, China, India, Brazil, and Canada) in which the team has a business presence. Specifically the job –holder is expected to proactively:

  • Co-ordinate the tax compliance and reporting information in a consistent and accurate manner in accordance with Group guidance
  • Negotiate with local Tax authority in each country, protecting the groups assets and minimizing any tax penalties
  • Manage tax reputational risk arising from the groups activities worldwide
  • Communicate with Business management in putting tax issues on the agenda
  • Appoint and manage the relationship with external advisers on an as-required basis
  • Provide all tax technical input into general and specific projects
  • Manage employee taxation and compensation policies in the group, liaising with tax colleagues in the jurisdictions in which the group has onshore resource as necessary
  • As the role covers several tax jurisdictions, the job-holder will draw upon in-country tax/finance personnel to manage day-to-day responsibilities

The minimum requirements of this role are:

  • Qualified accountant and/or tax advisor with 3-5 years PQE*
  • Detailed understanding of direct and indirect tax matters, including experience in International tax and cross-border transfer pricing and permanent establishment compliance requirements
  • Effective communication skills, cognisant of wide range of cultures within which the business operates
  • Highly computer literate and capable of project management
  • Ability to work under pressure to demanding deadlines
  • Well developed analytical, organisational and time management skills to manage and prioritise workload
  • Strong negotiation skills, ability to influence Business management on tax matters
