Reward/Executive Compensation Analyst - London

Make an impact working for this leading global financial services company. Working as part of the International Tax and Deferred Compensation team, you will take responsibility for providing executive compensation and tax services within the wider reward team on an EMEA basis. You will be joining an established team of individuals who are all experts in their chosen field and be given the support to continue developing your career. This position is newly created role which means that you will not be stepping into anyone else’s shoes so you will be able to really make a difference. The reward/executive compensation analyst job

This key appointment will see you undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Evaluating compensation practices against regulatory developments. This will include keeping up to date with UK regulatory issues and monitoring and assisting with the implementation and compliance with the UK regulators as necessary whilst maintaining the organisations approach to regulatory issues. This will also involve working closely with the wider Reward team and other internal stakeholders i.e. Risk & Compliance, Legal, and in particular the NY Corporate Compensation Team
  • Keeping abreast of regional regulatory issues and monitoring and assisting with implementation and compliance with local legislative requirements as necessary in line with the organisations approach to regulatory issues
  • Providing project management support for the UK year end compensation offering (Select +) which is a motivation and retention tool within the variable benefits offering to senior individuals. This includes knowledge of trusts, offshore pension arrangements, equity and deferred compensation arrangements. This will also include liaison with consultants, trustees and internal stakeholders e.g. Finance and Corporate Tax
  • Exploring the feasibility of implementing additional reward initiatives under the Select + platform considering changes to UK tax/pensions legislation for use as a motivational and retention tool within the variable benefits offering aimed at senior individuals
  • Working with EMEA countries in order to understand local issues and support local executive compensation initiatives. Exploring opportunities to leverage tax favourable reward arrangements in different tax jurisdictions across the region
  • Provide additional tax support across the International Tax & Deferred Compensation team as required
  • Providing support in respect of the Total Compensation tool from a regional perspective
  • Mergers, acquisitions or divestitures: provide support and advice in relation to all Reward issues including equity compensation and deferred compensation strategy

 

About you

To succeed in this Reward/Executive Compensation Analyst job, the ideal candidate will have:

  • ATT qualified (or equivalent) with significant reward tax experience
  • Knowledge of UK and global regulatory issues
  • Knowledge of the management of deferral programs, with a detailed understanding of employment tax and social security issues as they relate to executive compensation
  • High level understanding of the corporate tax issues, accounting issues and Employment law issues as they relate to executive compensation programs
  • PLC Governance/RemCo experience
  • Knowledge of expatriate tax issues and application of expatriate policies
  • Strong working knowledge of tax treaties and UK tax compliance rules/employer year-end reporting requirements
  • Working knowledge of non-UK tax issues, especially US and European tax issues
  • Experience working in Compensation & Benefits within Financial Services, preferably focusing on Executive Compensation
  • Experience working in a public accounting firm advising on Compensation & Benefits, ideally including advising on employment taxes relating to Reward and ideally including advising Financial Sector clients
