The role

To work as part of the this global FS firm's Group Tax Function with responsibility for the provision of high quality VAT advisory and compliance services to the Business Units falling under the VAT Group Registration and to associated entities as required.

Responsibilties

To complete the VAT and IPT returns for the main VAT group and other associated entities as required (liaising with other Business Units as necessary to achieve this

To carry out compliance visits to relevant Business Units, maintain appropriate records and to address matters arising from these visits;

To provide effective support to the VAT Manager with regard to HMRC correspondence and to attend meetings with HMRC on VAT and IPT matters;

To address ad hoc VAT queries arising from Business Units in a timely manner (and to maintain a record of these for future reference);

To carry out targeted VAT Training for relevant Business Units as required.

To provide VAT input into major transactions working with third party tax professionals as required;

To support the VAT Manager in ensuring that VAT elements of the Groupwide Tax Risk Management Framework are embedded and complied with;

To effectively appraise the VAT Manager of any identified issues arising, the means of resolving these, timescales involved and the relevant stakeholders who need to be notified.
