This leading FTSE 100 consumer business offers an excellent opportunity for a corporate tax manager to join the tax department on an interim basis in London. The desired start date for this role is mid to late September 2010 and the contract will be for approximately 11 months.

The tax manager job

Your duties & responsibilities will include the following:

• Preparing the tax returns for a large number of UK companies and partnerships and review of computations.  This involves working with other parts of the business in order to collate the necessary information and analysing and understanding the data. 
• Analysis of the corporate and deferred tax implications of property transactions.  This includes working with our property division and external lawyers.
• Assisting with the UK group's capital gains tax position and rollover claims
• Assisting with the delivery of year end group tax reporting. 
• Preparation of tax notes for statutory accounts
• Corresponding with HM Revenue and Customs
• Preparing and maintaining group schedules, monitoring the group payment arrangement
• Assisting with the calculation of quarterly instalment payment
• Assist with providing tax support and advice to different parts of the business as they develop their own initiatives, especially the property division

About you

To carry out this role effectively, you should have the following skills:

• ACA or ACCA and/or CTA qualified - perceived as having sound accounting skills
• Good communication skills
• Drive, tenacity and ability to deal with people at different levels in the business
• Good team working skills
• Good computer skills (Word, Excel essential; Abacus, Oracle useful)

This role would suit someone at Corporate Tax Supervisor/Manager level at a Big 4, mid tier firm.
