The UK group tax manager job

Based within Ashtead Group plc’s London head office, this key role will assume full responsibility for managing the organisation’s UK tax issues as well as working closely with the tax team in the US to manage the overall group tax position. This exciting position will provide you with a high level of visibility across the head office function. It is envisaged that your time will be split equally between compliance, reporting and advisory work. You will:

• Manage the Group’s consolidated tax position through tax reporting and tax planning
• Prepare, submit and agree corporate tax computations and VAT returns for all UK entities with HMRC and ensure compliance with UK corporate income tax requirements
• Maintain an overview of the US corporate tax position, including an understanding of the key issues therein
• Oversight of VAT and PAYE, including liaising with HMRC

About you

In return for the opportunity to work in a supportive and forward thinking environment in the UK Group Tax Manager job, you will be:

• An ACA qualifi ed corporate tax specialist already operating at Manager level (or equivalent)
• Technically strong in UK tax compliance and reporting
• Able to operate autonomously with a “hands on” approach to achieving objectives and have strong commercial awareness and communication skills

In addition, experience of liaising with overseas operations and/or international tax exposure would be advantageous.
