The attractiveness of tax boutiques as a career move for tax professionals

Pure's boutique tax team have a focus on recruiting for niche tax specialists and smaller independent firms. Our consultant, Paul Dunne has seen significant growth in this area recently which offers diverse and rewarding careers, with remuneration packages in many cases on a par with the larger firms.
Sustained performance
Despite the economic downturn and general levels of recruitment into the larger firms tailing off, it has been encouraging to note that the large majority of boutiques have continued to perform well without noting any drop off in business, with many firms actually having noticed a slight increase in enquires and new business leads.
Quality client service
The recent changes to top rate income tax bandings and the changes to domiciliary tax rules mean that tax consultants with international experience are in even greater demand by firms advising predominantly HNWIs. Additionally many clients have found they can receive the same high quality compliance and advisory services that they received at larger firms, but at a far more competitive rate. In these cost conscious times, boutiques have the distinct advantage of being able to offer their clients great levels of client service often on a par with the Big 4 with the additional benefit of a close working relationship with a Partner/Director or Senior Manager.
